Miss Macau

The Miss Macau pageant was held in 1972 and from 1985 to 1998 every year in the Forum De Macau auditorium. The winner receives $100,000 and the chance to compete at Miss World and Miss Chinese International. There is no preliminary competition. The pageant has been held on and off as sponsors withdraw from the pageant. The original sponsors for the pageant were Sociedade de Turismo e Diversões de Macau. The company only sponsored the pageant for one year (1972). In 1985, Teledifusão de Macau took over the pageant and held the pageant from 1985 to 1998. Due to lack of support and lack of audience, the pageant was eventually discontinued in 1998. From 1998 to now, no Macau representative has competed at Miss World or Miss Chinese International.

In 2008 Miss Macau pageant was restored and hosted by S.I. Promotion Limited & G&L Group at The Venitian Macau. The winner was Florence Loi. The pageant returned in 2009 by S.I. Promotion Limited % G&L Group at the same location and winner is Laura Li.

Guilhermina Madeira da Silva Pedruco

Guilhermina is the oldest sister of the family. She is 37 years old now and competed at Miss Chinese International 1989 and Miss World 1989 held in Hong Kong. 19 years old at that time, she finished as second runner up at Miss Chinese International 1989 and unfortunely was unplaced at Miss World 1989. She is considered to be the most successful Miss Macau at Miss Chinese International as she is the only winner to win an award at the international pageant.
